You will join your fishing guide for a fresh water fishing trip to the upper Nepean river (west of Sydney) between the Penrith Weir and Warragamba Dam. One of the beauties of our fresh water fishing trip is you're only 40mins from downtown Sydney, yet it feels like you're a million miles from anywhere.
Your guide Steve, has been fishing the Nepean for many years, loves his bass fishing and truly cares for the Nepean river system. He knows his bass fishing and is highly skilled in the art of surface lure finesse fishing. He lives only minutes from the river and has spent hundreds, (if not thousands) of hours chasing fish in the mighty Nepean.
The species that can be targeted in the Nepean are bass, mullet, carp, herring, catfish, eels and even some huge gold fish. Steve promotes catch and release bass fishing, take a pic or video home and put the fish back to get bigger, fatter and get him again next time.
On the day of your freshwater fishing trip Steve will welcome you aboard his 4.6m custom built bass boat with a 60hp outboard to get you up the river quickly and smoothly. He also have an electric motor so we can sneak up on the fish in the best spots on the river!
After a quick safety rundown and a brief trip into the magnificent Nepean gorge, it won’t be long before you have your fishing line dangling in the water in anticipation of your first catch!
The Nepean is an amazing setting for fresh water fishing – steep gorge rock faces, with an abundance of wildlife including eagles soaring overhead, wallabies leaping around the rocks, water dragons lying in wait plus so much more.
We mainly target the hard fighting native bass on either surface or diving lures, depending on conditions. We also target mullet, herring or carp as we are casting the lures for the bass.
This is a half day (min 4 hrs) afternoon freshwater fishing experience.
Steve uses top quality, Shimano rods and reels, with the best of east coast and tailor-made lures. You don’t even need a fishing licence, as we have organised that all for you. During the fishing trip, we also supply light refreshments, snacks and photos of you with your catch.
This is suitable for anyone with a love of fishing. Children are welcome, but must be accompanied by a paying adult.
Steve conducts this trip on weekends and you will need to book at least 2 weeks ahead. Please contact us first using the form below, with a date in mind and an alternate, so we can check availability.
