Looking for a safe, water based activity close to Sydney? Then why not hire a kayak for half a day and explore the wonders of Bundeena and the Royal National Park, 50 minutes south of Sydney CBD. Pack a lunch, hire a kayak and head off on an amazing adventure.
Located on the wonderful beach-front of Bonnie Vale Picnic Grounds at Bundeena is your base for a great day out. Go for a dip in the sheltered clear waters of Simpson’s Bay, make sand castles on the beach, relax in the grassy picnic grounds or bring along your fishing gear and catch your lunch! Then you can cook up a storm using the provided gas BBQ facilities.
Kayaks are available for hire giving you the opportunity to explore the river and park at your own pace. We have a range of single, double and triple enclosed and sit-on-top kayaks suitable for beginners to advanced paddlers. The kayaks have plenty of storage space so you can pack a huge picnic lunch and head out for a day of adventure.
What can I expect to see?
The departure point at Bundeena is a coastal bay with a stunning stretch of sandy beach (great for swimming). Venture further up the river into the National Park and you’ll leave civilization behind. Here the river takes on a new look with isolated creeks, mangrove ecosystems, secluded picnic spots, overhanging cliffs and of course the majestic towering trees of the National Park.
