Brisbane Balloon Flight
- A magical one hour balloon flight
- Wonderful views to the city of Brisbane
- Breakfast after the flight
Our flight is the closest you'll find to Brisbane, only 30 minutes by car to the meeting point in Ipswich. Your morning will start early, before the sun rises in fact. After meeting your pilot and crew at the Ipswich Visitor Information Centre, you'll be transferred to the launch site. This is determined each morning by the pilot, based on the wind direction and conditions. At the launch site your involvement depends entirely upon yourself. You can watch the crew prepare the balloon for flight. Or you can actively be involved in its preparation. When the balloon is inflated and the pilot gives the ok, its time to climb aboard the basket and take off!
Once in the air the balloon will rise above the sounds below. You'll watch as the countryside begins to wake up, the mist rises and the views become amazingly beautiful. While on your Brisbane Balloon Flight you should expect to see, depending on weather conditions:
- The heritage city of Ipswich, Queensland’s oldest provincial city
- The skyline of Brisbane, Mt Coot-Tha and Moreton Bay
- Flinders Peak, Mount Walker, Cunningham’s Gap and Mount Tamborine
- The Bremer and Brisbane Rivers and Wivenhoe Dam
- The stunning peaks of the Great Dividing Range, McPherson and D’Aguilar ranges
- The agricultural Brisbane, Fassifern and Lockyer valleys and their quaint country towns.
Once the flight is over, the balloon and equipment is packed up and everyone is transferred back to town for a wonderful breakfast in a local Ipswich restaurant. You can sit back, relax and relive your amazing hot air balloon flight.
Your flight is operated by Floating Images Hot Air Balloon Flights, a small family ballooning business and owner and Chief Pilot Graeme Day has over 29 years’ experience flying balloons on three continents. This boutique ballooning company only takes 4–10 passengers per flight so you won't be crammed into the basket. Graeme has an intimate knowledge of the local region and passion for ballooning and shares this with his passengers.
