Tiger Moth Scenic Joy Flight (30-45minutes)

Step into an aircraft design steeped in flying history. The 1940a de Havilland Tiger Moth will have you flying as they did in the 1940s... in an open cockpit bi-plane. This Tiger Moth Scenic Joy Flight takes you over the quiet country side of south-west Sydney with views to the Blue Mountains.

This Tiger Moth Scenic Joy Flight will have the wind blowing through your hair, as you sit back, relax and enjoy an era of romance and nostalgia. Most Tiger Moth bi-planes in Australia are privately owned so the chance of a flight in one is relatively rare. Luckily it's an opportunity Airborne Aviation can offer, we have three aircraft available!

Donning a leather flying helmet and goggles ready for a flight of pure nostalgia flying high above the bustle of modern life, it is easy to imagine it is 1940 again.

The Tiger Moth Scenic Joy Flight departs from Camden, with the flight taking in views of the Blue Mountains, Lake Burragorang, and Warragamba Dam. We typically return to the airport following the Nepean River at low level of 500ft.

What will happen on the day:

Your flight will consist of you and your pilot.

RESTRICTIONS:

A minimum age of 15 years and a maximum weight 115 kg applies. We ask customers to sign a flight form that gives us their name address and phone number and our passengers are fully insured for the duration of the flight.

TIME:

Allow approximately 60 minutes for the total experience which includes 15 minutes of preparation time, 30 flight time and then around 15 minutes at the end of flight for photos etc. Flights are available from 7am - 5pm, everyday (we don't fly Christmas Day, Boxing Day or New Years Day).

WEATHER:

Clear, calm conditions are needed so this is a "weather dependant" activity. We may need to cancel in strong wind and adverse conditions.

WHAT TO BRING/WEAR:

You can bring a camera but please bring a strap to attach it to your wrist. Wear comfortable casual clothing e.g. jeans, t-shirt and maybe a jumper for summer and a jacket for winter. Footwear - sneakers are ideal or very similar. No high heels or thongs.
