| Tandem Skydiving is an amazing way to experience the thrill and excitement
of freefall for the first time, simply because there is no formal training necessary,
therefore no drills for you to remember and no major responsibility on your
part. Your tandem skydive experience will have you attached to your tandem skydiving
instructor via a dual harness. This allows you to enjoy the thrill of skydiving
in a comfortable situation with the wind speeding past your face as you wave
to your freefall photographer or tandem instructor's handcam video camera.
When you arrive at our purpose built Drop Zone at Langhorne Creek near Adelaide,
and after completion of the paper work (which includes your APF membership), the
tandem skydive involves about 15 minutes training and away you go! Your instructor
wears a parachute built especially for two and you wear a harness. We only use
the most advanced and up-to-date equipment with all parachutes fitted with computerised
back-up opening devices.
The aircraft flight takes around 20-30 minutes to reach your exit height, plenty
of time to enjoy the amazing scenic views over the Adelaide Hills, Coorong,
Lake Alexandrina and the Murray River. When you depart the aircraft you'll experience
the thrill of freefall for approximately 25 60 seconds (depeding on
your jump height option), reaching speeds up to 200kms per hour. Your instructor
will open the parachute at 5,000ft and you will have a 5-minute canopy ride
back to the Drop Zone.
Jump Height options
8,000ft 25 seconds freefall
10,000ft 40 seconds freefall
12,000ft 50 seconds freefall
14,000ft 60 seconds freefall
You choose your jump height below when booking a day.
Your tandem skydive finishes with you lifting your legs so your instructor
can perform the landing for you, right in front of your family and friends.
Tandem skydiving is an exhilarating feeling which is almost impossible to explain.
If youre after a thrill, and excitement is what you need... a Tandem
Skydive is for you.
What if the weather is bad?
We can jump in up to 25 knots of wind, however this is subject to turbulent
and gusty conditions. Low, thick complete cloud cover and heavy rain will also
stop us jumping. If you are unable to complete your jump due to weather, you
can rebook your jump to another day of your choice.
Age & Health
The minimum age for a tandem skydive is 14 years. Anyone under 18 years
will require parent or guardian consent. There is no maximum age limit subject
to our health restrictions. If you are over 60 years old or have any medical
condition, we require a doctor's certificate before you can jump.
You need to be in reasonable health to ensure a fun safe experience and we
do reserve the right to refuse a skydive based on age, weight and health.
Size and weight limitations
The maximum weight for tandem skydive or parachute flight is 100kg
but in some circumstances, we can go to 110 kg but may need to wait for the
right weather conditions, and there is surcharge for anyone over 90kg. Surcharge
for over 90kg $25, over 95kg $45, over 100 $70. Payable on the day.
What should I wear?
Loose, comfortable clothing is best. When the harness is tightened,
tight clothing such as jeans can be uncomfortable. Less bulky clothing is best.
Shoes should be of the 'runner' or 'sand shoe' variety, preferably without a
heel. Please no bulky boots with hooks. Dress as you would for the weather on
the ground.
Glasses and Contact Lenses You can jump with either as we
will supply special goggles for both.
How long will it take?
We advise that you arrive with no time constraints and keep at least
a 1/2 day free from your arrival at the skydiving centre. A Tandem jump involves
a 20 minute briefing and gear up after which you will board the aircraft for
flight.
The Price quoted below is valid for 1 person. Please booked at least 3 days
before you want to jump. |
