RYA Start Yachting Course for Beginners

The RYA Start Yachting Course is the absolute beginners sailing course. This course is designed for someone who has no experience in sailing and wanting to gain a basic understanding. This is a great course to start your adventure into the exciting world of sailing.

Your sailing lessons take place on beautiful Sydney Harbour where you are taught the fundamentals of sailing. You will be at the helm of an exciting Beneteau yacht right from the first lesson and by the end of the course you will have accomplished the basic manoeuvres of sailing.

After you complete the Start Yachting Course you will have basic sailing experience and an understanding of sailing terms, relevance of wind direction & speed to sailing, points of sail, basic knots, manoeuvres of tacking and gybing, right of way rules, rigging and preparation for sailing.

Courses begin every week. Flexible booking structure, but a minimum of 48 hours notice is required to cancel or postpone a booking.

None, we will teach you to sail on Sydney Harbour!

COURSE DURATION

Part time course: 15 hours, comprising four x 3 hour on board practical lessons plus a theory session and a FREE club race. Alternatively this beginners course can also be done as a weekend live-board sailing course. To postpone a booked lesson you must contact us before 5pm Wednesday.

INCLUSIONS

Inclusions: Course kit including RYA competent crew handbook, RYA log book, sunglasses strap, sailing magazine. Insurance, safety equipment and use of spray jackets plus RYA Start Yachting course certificate on completion.

COURSE TIMES

Courses commence regularly. Saturdays and Sundays 09:30 – 12:30 or 13:15 –16:15. Available every Saturday or Sunday, morning or afternoon.
