Introduction to Rock Climbing (1 Day)

With this “Introduction to Rock Climbing” course you will get a taste of rock climbing before committing yourself to a full climbing course! This introductory rock climbing course will let you experience the fun and excitement of vertical rock by giving you the maximum amount of climbing activity interspersed with some important instruction to help you along the way.

After wards you’ll be able to return to complete day two of the ROCK I programme to bring you up to a full Beginners Rock climbing level! The climbing will range from easy to challenging with ample opportunity for you to try a range of varied climbing styles from walls to jamb cracks. There will also be a class in abseiling for those who have never experienced that activity.

Other Information

This activity is physically low-impact, if you can walk up a flight of stairs you can participate.

Your operator will provide all transport from Katoomba to the site, qualified instructors, delicious food, all instruction, use of all equipment including ropes, helmets, harnesses, hardware, climbing shoes etc., log books, course notes and course certificates.

Group sizes are approximately one instructor for every five or six participants.

Please bring or wear the following clothing; shorts, long pants, warm jacket or jumper, T-shirt, sun hat, rain jacket. Footwear such as running shoes, or lightweight hiking boots are ideal. Also bring a daypack, water bottle, sun-cream, camera (optional).
