Rainbow Beach is a young, vibrant coastal town located two and a half to three hours drive from Brisbane. Access Rainbow Beach from the Bruce Highway via Gympie or Maryborough, or (four wheel drive only) from Noosa via Tewantin, along the magical Cooloola coast.
Rainbow Beach has various tours encompassing local attractions including Fraser Island, the Coloured Sands, Double Island Point, Lighthouse, Lake Freshwater and Cooloola National Park.
There are plenty of things to see and do at your own pace, visit Carlo Sand Blow or relax with a spot of swimming, surfing, canoeing or horse riding. The area is perfect for beach fishing, bushwalking or bird watching. Or for the adventurous there is the opportunity to take a scenic flight, go paragliding or hang-gliding or hire a four wheel drive.
