Bargo located just 1 hour from Sydney, Penrith, Goulburn and Sutherland is a central and easy place to get to by car or rail. Consider Bargo for day trips, bus excursions and weekend retreats.

Bring your bike! Did you know Bargo is fast becoming a cycling town, catering for cyclists with racing events, scenic rides and cycling friendly accommodation.

The town has a population of just under 4,000 surrounded by vast green belts of protected bushland and spectacular views and scenery. As well as cycling there are some fabulous bushwalks, places to dine, picnic and relax. The town boasts two scenic dams (Avon and Nepean), a Dingo Sanctuary and "Wirrimibirra" a flora and fauna Sanctuary.

Botanists will be interested in the endangered plant species Persoonia Bargoensis which can only be found in the Bargo district. Other attractions that are just a short drive from Bargo are the Rail Heritage Museum, George IV Inn (locally brewed beer) and Tharawal Aborginal Land Council

Bike it in Bargo.

Visit the 1926 renovation Hotel Bargo, bistro and playgrounds

Entertainment and dining at Bargo Sports Club (secure bicycle parking)

Fruit De Boop Coffee Shop (catering especially for cycling groups and tourists)

Tennis, skate park, children’s playground at Bargo Sports Ground

Visit Wirrimbirra Sanctuary for native plants purchases including the white waratah, information on bushwalks, BBQ and picnic areas, flora and fauna studies, native animal enclosures

Find out about the unique habits, traits and myths of the Australian Dingo. Some 40 endangered pure bred dingo’s in bushland setting and picnic areas.

Find a Bargain at the Lifeline Macarthur store and Bargo Secondhand Stop. Bargo Waste Depot even has its own bargain bonanza.
