Raft The Derwent River, the upper reaches of Hobart's beautiful Derwent River, which winds through the tranquil Derwent Valley. This is an ideal river to introduce you to the excitement of white water rafting, knowing the rapids are graded only 1/2 – definately a trip the family can do together!
Situated just one hour north of the Hobart CBD, this is an ideal day trip. The Derwent River is a gentle river to raft and suitable for all ages. As we make our way along the river past farmland you will encounter banks lined with weeping willows and the occasional Blackwood and gum trees. This tranquil rafting trip makes way for adventure as you encounter rapids at Broken Bridge and the Railway Bridge. The rapids are graded 1/2, which means this 9 kilometre rafting expedition is perfect for families.

VENUE: The Derwent River is one hour north of the Hobart CBD.
DURATION: This trip usually requires a full day. The day starts at New Norfolk, around one hour from Hobart, and you will spend around 3–4 hours on the water.
NUMBERS ON THE DAY:
1–70 people – we need a minimum of 4 people to book a trip, but individuals and smaller groups are welcome to join existing trips.

EXTRAS: We can provide transport to and from Hobart for $10 per person. Lunch can be arranged at the site for between $5 and $40 per person, ranging from salad rolls and fruit to gourmet Tasmanian produce.
