Byron Bay Hot Air Balloon Flight (Child)

A hot air balloon flight over Byron Bay and surrounds is one of the most spectacular activities you will do. You will be one of the first to witness the sunrise over Australia's most easterly point!

To qualify for this experience you have to be between 5 - 12 years old.

Your hot air balloon flight begins approximately one hour before sunrise where you are then driven to the launch site, which is determined on the morning depending on the wind speed and direction. We have about 25 different launch sites within a 50km radius of Byron Bay, and these locations are individually selected to give you the best possible flight for the prevailing wind.

RESTRICTIONS:

Ballooning is gentle and suitable for all persons over the age of 5 years. No specific level of fitness is required however you will need to be able to stand for the duration of the flight (1 hour). Please let us know if you are more than 95kg.

People with the following concerns may not be suitable to fly and should discuss this prior to booking: pregnant women, people with aggravated back, hip or leg problems those who have had recent operations, those with any ear conditions.

Sturdy shoes are recommended as feet can get wet in the early morning dew. Please bring sunglasses, a cap and sunscreen. Ladies, no skirts or high heels please! Depending on the season, you may need jeans, jumper, beanie and a jacket that you can remove as the morning warms up. The coldest part of the morning is on the ground whilst we are inflating the balloon. It is not cold in the balloon - the temperature is the same as on the ground, we move with the breeze so there is no wind chill factor. Be sure to have your camera and lots of film as this spectacular panorama is a photographer’s paradise.

CONDITIONS:

If for any reason, you, a friend or family member is unable to fly, then they can join us as a spectator, assisting in launching the balloon, taking photos and waving you off as you rise into the sky. Then they can enjoy the chase in the crew vehicle and be there to greet you as you land, assist in packing up the balloon and help you celebrate over a traditional champagne breakfast!

Hot air ballooning is a weather dependent activity - we can only safely fly in calm light winds normally about 3 to 10 kts. It may be necessary to postpone a flight at any time if in our judgment, the conditions are not suitable. If your flight is cancelled due to inclement weather conditions, your booking details go into "open dated" in our computer, and the validity date is automatically extended for 3 months. We do ask that you contact us within 90 days to arrange another flight
