Highland Fling MTB Marathon entries to open 23 June

MEDIA RELEASE: The weekend of 8-9 November 2008 sees the 4th running of the Highland Fling Mountain Bike Marathon. The race, which again doubles as the Australian MTB Marathon Championships, takes place in the beautiful Southern Highlands of NSW with the event centre in the town of Bundanoon, 2 hours south of Sydney.

Ay-Up Dusk to Dawn 12 Hour

Ay-Up Dusk to Dawn 12 Hour. Everyone can take part in the challenge from beginner through to the competitive rider. The aim is to complete as many laps in a 12 hour period as you can either as a solo rider or in a team of friends or work-mates. You can do one lap then change over to your next rider or do several before changing over to your next rider. It is up to you and your team. You can go as hard and fast as you like or take it at a slow relaxed pace and stop and start as often as you like. It’s all up to you.

Insomnia 24 Hour Mountain Bike Festival

insomnia.jpgThe Insomnia 24 Hour Mountain Bike Festival is held annually at a stunning location 30mins North of Brisbane, Queensland. The feature is a 24 hour mountain bike race but is supported by a raft of festivities including live music, food stalls, competitions, displays, demos, corporate tents and all weekend camping. At the event centre, Pit Lane is the hub of all event happenings. It is lined with all sorts of vendors and stretches from the transition area next to the lake, right down to the main entertainment stage. The festival is open to the public and competitors alike. Gates open 3pm Friday with the main race starting midday Saturday and finishing midday Sunday.
