Top tips for garment care from the GORE-TEX® brand team
- Wash jackets frequently: Even if your garment does not appear soiled, particles of dirt, perspiration and sunscreen residue can build up over time and affect a garment’s performance.
- Tumble dry: Generally all GORE-TEX® fabrics can be machine washed and tumble dried – in fact it’s recommended. The heat from the tumble drying process helps to reactivate the Durable Water Repellency (DWR)**.
- Apply water repellent treatments: Applying topical water repellent treatments helps restore the water repellency of outdoor fabrics. These treatments should be water based fluropolymers, not silicon based, and are available from outdoor retailers.
