Over 60’s break skydiving record over Wollongong

seniors_skydive.jpgNSW’s Senior Week jump off to a flying start with a group of plucky over 60s throwing themselves out of an aeroplane over Wollongong today. In doing so they achieved a skydiving record at the same time.

The team linked up in a mid-air formation after freefalling 14,000 feet above a North Wollongong beach, trumping the previous Australian record of six seniors.

Marty Pandelus, 62, from South Wollongong fronted the team. He believes older age should not get in the way of experiencing new things.

“We set out to achieve a new skydiving record to show the world activities can be enjoyed at any age, regardless of how extreme they appear,” he said.
