Killing Whales for any reason is just plain WRONG!

petition.jpgLike many Australians, we at Break Loose find the thought of slaughtering whales an absolutely vile action. With that said, right now the Japanese Whaling fleet is heading to the Southern Ocean with the express orders of killing over 1000 whales, including 50 endangered Fin whales and 50 Humpbacks. Do you want to help stop this action?

If you feel you want to try and help drive the message home to the Japanese that what they are doing is not only incredibly disgusting and totally unnecessary, it is also condemned by the overwhelming majority of the nations of the world. Then get behind a petition organised by the The Daily Telegraph and Greenpeace. Its a small step but with the growing condemnation this year, particularly here in Australia and New Zealand, this petition may help.

Why not tell us below of any experiences you have had with whales. Instead of berating the Japanese, lets show them how wonderful and important the whales are.

I’ll start the discussion off by saying that I was privileged to see a large number of whales heading south past Botany Bay south of Sydney. I was at a viewing platform on the southern headland and with us were some observers who said the whales were Humpbacks. They were heading south after finishing breeding in the warmer waters off Queensland. We saw around 10 whales and although they were a distance away, it was absolutely fantastic watching them play.

Have you seen any whales lately? Tell us below.
