Are you fit, love adventure and the outdoors, and can spare four days in November to explore the Wollemi National Park. Then two students from Blue Mountains TAFE have an expedition that may interest you.

Nathan Smith and Jason Harbach are currently completing their Certificate 4 Outdoor Recreation course and for their final assessment they have designed a 4 day wilderness program where they will be working as your guides utilizing their skills and training they have acquired over the last two years.

Hi our names are Nathan Smith and Jason Harbach we are Certificate 4 Outdoor Recreation students at Blue Mountains TAFE. For our final assessment Jason Harbach and I are designing and running a 4 day wilderness program, where we will be working as the guides we have been training to be for the last two years.

The wilderness program is a 4 day expedition on the Newnes Plateau in the Wollemi National Park. This is the largest wilderness area in NSW and forms part of the recently declared Greater Blue Mountains World Heritage Area — a maze of canyons, cliffs and undisturbed forest.

Clients will be walking a unique and spectacular route through this trackless wilderness area. Along the bushwalk we will be abseiling, canyoning and rockclimbing as we move from camp to camp.

The program will be over seen by a fully qualified TAFE Outdoor Recreation assessor, assuring that the duty of care for participants is upheld by Jason and I. The programs particitants are fully covered by TAFE insurance, and both students and the assessor are trained in wilderness first aid.

If you are an experienced bushwalker and are interested in this program please contact me (Nathan) via email at nathanpathan@hotmail.com. We need 6-8 participants so get some of your bushwalking buddies to come along for an amazing wilderness experience.
