XPD Expedition Race Update

XPD_ed2.jpgMEDIA RELEASE: Expedition to a Wonder of the Natural World. In a much anticipated announcement, Geocentric Adventure Racing has released plans to hold the third edition of the XPD Expedition Race on the Whitsunday Coast, Australia. Race Director Craig Bycroft said “Competitors will travel through reef, rainforest and outback in this diverse expedition race. They will experience the majestic Whitsunday Islands, lush highland rainforests and the harsh Queensland outback.” Dates have been set for next year, the 20-31 August 2007.

Andrew Short Marine-Club Marine wins Melb-Vanuatu Yacht Race

The Volvo 60 Andrew Short Marine-Club Marine has finished the 1850 nautical mile Queensland Government South Pacific Boomerang Melbourne to Vanuatu race, winning line honours, her division and setting a race record of seven days seventeen hours and six minutes.

Govetts Leap to Pulpit Rock Bushwalk, Blue Mountains NP

A recent Sunday saw my first “real” introduction to bushwalking with a 8km return hike to Pulpit Rock at Blackheath in the Blue Mountains. Sure, I had successfully attempted more subtle walking tracks around Sydney but this was going to be more difficult.

Kayaking Tours - Losing it in Freycinet National Park, Tasmania

A she-oak needle landed softly on my face, bringing me back from a waking dream. Looking around it seemed that my companions too were busy with pursuits, the likes of which are usually reserved for balmy Sunday afternoons. One lay pinned down by the weight of a book, whilst the other I could see strolling at the waters edge looking slightly groggy with wonderment at the landscape.
